Our purpose at IPART is to make the people of NSW better off through our independent decisions and advice. We act with integrity, earn trust, serve the people of NSW and are accountable for everything we do.

We are the independent regulator for the water, public transport, local government, electricity and gas network industries. We administer and regulate the NSW Energy Security Safeguard (ESS) decarbonisation scheme and are one of the regulators for the rollout of the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

We also undertake reviews and investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues and perform a number of other roles at the NSW Government’s request.
