About the role
We are looking for an experienced Analyst to join our Analytics and Insights team to perform key data analysis and generate insights to support and inform the development of public sector workforce policy and initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to work in an organisation that is driving change in the NSW Public Sector. If you enjoy working in a job that has influence across a large business group, enjoy using your skills to inform and influence decision making then this is the job for you. Analysts with experience using coding and statistical software such as SPSS, SQL, Python or R would be highly regarded.
We are looking for individuals who can:
- Compile, organise and analyse large data sets using various analytical, statistical and data science techniques
- Apply data governance principles to manage and resolve data quality issues
- Engage, consult and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate analysis and insights with data visualisations and clear and concise commentary
- Apply critical thinking and analysis to data to demonstrate findings of data beyond simple presenting of numbers
- Operate in a fast paced, high volume environment

About the Public Service Commission
The Public Service Commission (PSC) is headed by an independent Public Service Commissioner and is a separate agency under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE Act) that supports the Commissioner in the exercise of her functions and powers.
The PSC leads the design, development and implementation of the full range of sector-wide workforce management strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the NSW government sector.
Talent Pool
The purpose of this recruitment is to fill two ongoing Analyst roles within the Analytics and Design team and to also create an Analyst talent pool. A talent pool is used to fill future ongoing and temporary vacancies as they arise and remains valid for 18 months.
