About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Corporate Finance to join our busy and dynamic team on an ongoing basis.

Reporting into the Director, Finance and Procurement, the Associate Director, Corporate Finance will lead, manage and control the financial accounting and reporting services for the Department, ensuring accurate, efficient and timely delivery, whilst complying with relevant statutory accounting, taxation and Treasury guidelines, associated Australian accounting standards and the Department’s policies and procedures.

You. Our Ideal Candidate

  • Will have extensive experience in financial management at a senior level.
  • Will have a comprehensive understanding of best practice in accounting and financial management along with up-to-date knowledge of Government initiatives, policies, systems, procedures, relevant legislation, Australian accounting standards and NSW Treasury requirements.
  • Will operate with a high level of authority in respect to exercising professional judgement on a range of issues.
  • Will have well developed organisation skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with tight deadlines.
  • Will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide accurate, clear and comprehensive advice in short time frames.

  1. Provide an example of where you have planned and produced statutory financial statements, ensuring the delivery of statutory reporting and associated audit and Treasury (or controlling entity) reporting requirements. How did you plan and coordinate activities and what was the result?
     
  2. Demonstrate your experience in managing multiple financial accounting and processing tasks for period end activities, across your team and external service providers. Provide an example of challenges you have faced and resolved (and what you did to address this).
