The Employee Relations Branch are looking to fill the Director, Compliance role for a period up to 30 June 2021. This is an exciting & challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to showcase strategic leadership skills on Industrial Relations matters on regulatory & compliance within the NSW Public Sector.


About the Role


The Director, Compliance directs the operational management, planning, delivery of programs and activities in accordance with the Government’s strategic priorities and business reform in Industrial Relations compliance.


In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Leading & directing operational teams in administering regulatory legislation to ensure the achievement of industrial relations regulatory objectives through a range of inspectorate, advisory and educational services.
  • Providing timely, expert advice to DPC Executives and the Minister for Industrial Relations regarding the application of and compliance with NSW industrial relations laws.
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to achieve regulatory and compliance outcomes
  • Ensuring that systems, including IT systems, processes and practices used are contemporary, fit for purpose and meet all NSW government requirements.
  • Providing timely and expert advice on regulatory and compliance matters to stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Employee Relations, you will be responsible for leading & directing teams in inspectorate, investigative, advisory and educational functions across the Employee Relations Branch.

We are looking for an individual who has:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated, equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Experience operating under high levels of autonomy & the ability to be held accountable for the timeliness, content, quality & reliability of advice provided.
  • Expert knowledge on modern regulatory practices.

Salary: Public Service Senior Executive Band 1. Total remuneration package to be negotiated.
