About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about directing the Regional, Rural and Remote Education branch’s Engagement team to develop and maintain professional partnerships and relationships in regional, rural and remote communities across NSW to drive the department’s strategic priorities and ensure alignment to the Regional, Rural & Remote Education Strategy. 


This role is a critical member of the leadership team responsible for the delivery of educational outcomes that align with the Department’s strategy and put students and young people at the centre of all our decision making. 


The role will be located in Regional NSW, with the final regional location to be negotiated with the successful candidate

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who: 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or communications, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience. 
  • Significant experience in working in regional, rural and remote areas in Australia. 
  • Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation. 
  • High levels of demonstrated capability in developing relationships and managing internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
