About the Organisation

About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.

This position will require you support three Aboriginal male clients in a supported accommodation setting.

We are only accepting applications from candidates that identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Life Without Barriers considers that being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational requirement as outlined in a State or territory legislation and permitted as a ‘special measure’ under section 8 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) and by articles 1(4) and 2(2) of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
  

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Community Access & Transport
  • Maintain & Monitor Person Centred Plans
  • Documenting & Progress Note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III Community Welfare, Disability or similar
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
