About the Role

 

The Housing Assistant position is an entry level position, directly supporting the client service delivery team. The primary purpose of this role is to provide a high level of support through managing a range of administrative and client service functions.

 

Your day-to-day functions will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Responding to telephone enquiries, providing information to clients as well as referring client enquiries and information onto client service staff.
  • Shared mail inbox management
  • Processing financial transactions for invoicing/good receipts
  • Manage client information to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and integrity
  • Collating and distribution of incoming and outgoing correspondence

 

 

About you

 

  • Enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about delivering great customer service.
  • Have above average computer skills, as well as the ability to navigate multiple applications and systems.
  • Be willing to be upskilled in various processes and software platforms.
  • Have a great team focused attitude but also the confidence and initiative to work on your own.
  • Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.

 

This recruitment aims to fill 1 position in Waterloo and to also create a Talent Pool for ongoing and temporary positions in Sydney Metro locations, as they arise in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

 

A Talent Pool is valid for a period of up to 18 months.

 

 

Essential Requirements

 

Note: In accordance with Clause 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 and in accordance with Sections 14 and 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 the Department of Communities and Justice considers that being of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification for this role and preference will be given to candidates who meet the pre-established standards:

 

  • Documented verification of Aboriginality.

 

The Department will accept proof of Aboriginality confirming the following:

  1. You are an aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent;
  2. You identify as being Aboriginal; and
  3. You are accepted as such by the community in which you live.

 

An acceptable form of documented verification is a “Confirmation of Aboriginality” letter, provided to you by a local Aboriginal organisation that includes a common seal from that organisation.
