About us

 

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is the lead agency under the Stronger Communities Cluster. DCJ works to enable everyone's right to access justice and help for families through early intervention and inclusion, with benefits for the whole community. Stronger Communities is focussed on achieving safe, just, inclusive and resilient communities by providing services that are effective and responsive to community needs.  For the first time, the creation of DCJ and Stronger Communities provides an opportunity to focus on prevention and early intervention across both the social welfare and justice systems.

 

Information and Digital Services, within the Corporate Services division, provides secure and modern IT services to support and enable DCJ staff to achieve positive outcomes for stronger communities. 

 

About the role

 

The information analyst role sits within the Business intelligence team in Information Management. The information analyst works with various stakeholder within the data warehouse teams and the subject matter experts to make available reports and data to meet DCJ’s information management needs.

 

This role is required to convene workshops and discussion groups to understand the information requirements from various internal/external stakeholders, conduct and support testing activities to ensure that the business information needs are effectively met with the reports available.

Information Analyst will also support and work closely with the Data warehouse Manager, especially in relation to governance over the applications including maintaining risks registers etc.

 

Essential Requirements

• National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014

• Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children)

Act 2012)

 

About you

 

As an ideal candidate you would have:

 

  • Previously worked with information management specific to business intelligence and data warehouses.
  • Experience in conducting workshops and ascertain complex requirements from the business and relate complex problems in plain language.
  • Worked closely with development teams and are well versed in the various testing methodologies within the information management solutions
  • Experience within information management within State / Federal sector is preferred but not essential
  • Experience delivering set outcomes with minimal supervision
  • An ability to work with the Manager to set your own goals and report back on them autonomously
  • Experience working effectively with team members towards mutual continued development and provide feedback to each other on analysis undertaken, including being able to conduct training sessions.
