Membership Manager, Asia Pacific
JOB SUMMARY
The Membership Manager, Asia Pacific will facilitate ACC's success in serving and growing it's members in Australia by working with the Senior Director, Membership and Member Services to develop and implement membership acquisition and retention strategies to meet the annual membership goals of Australia.
The role is the first point of contact for incoming member and prospective member inquiries via phone and email and must deliver exceptional standards of customer service and professionalism to ACC's critical stakeholders. The person shall also undertake a range of strategic initiatives that serve to grow membership and enhance membership engagement with members across the region.
The role works cross functionally and creatively with global colleagues, especially global membership and IT to promote and support membership in the region and will support the general activities and campaigns in the Asia Pacific region as needed.
The ideal candidate will bring membership experience in an industry body, membership association or non-profit organization. Additionally, the candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with senior executives and external stakeholders. This is a one-year contract role, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Membership and Member Services and is based in Melbourne, Australia.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Confidentially represent the organization and articulate the value of membership to existing and potential members.
* Effectively communicate with members and respond to inquires to ensure the highest standards of customer service is being delivered.
* Maintain proactive relationships with national committee members to ensure state committees are encouraged and supported in the promotion of the association and membership.
* Responsible for the management of the ACC Australia member database and for ensuring the accuracy of member data and the production of membership reports.
* Partner with the Senior Director to develop and implement new member acquisition campaigns and manage the roll out of acquisition activities.
* Reconcile bank and credit card payments against member records to ensure accuracy.
* Work with the Senior Director to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all member communication and assist to develop new membership material.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* A minimum of five years of experience in an industry body, membership association or non-profit organization.
* Strong membership database experience (i.e., NetForum or Abila) is highly regarded.
COMPETENCIES
* Sound analytical skills, with ability to analyze data and marketing information.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build substantial and professional relationships with senior executives as well as internal and external stakeholders.
* High level written and verbal communication skills (including Microsoft Office Suite) and sound copywriting and editing skills.
* Experience in using and improving administrative systems to maximize results (i.e., CRM systems, email management systems).
* Outstanding customer service skills
* Experience within a membership organization is strong preferred.
* Ability to multi-task to work on own initiative and to manage workload independently.
* Self-motivated, extremely well organized with excellent time management skills.
* Results driven with integrity.
LANGUAGES
ACC seeks to hire multi-lingual candidates with fluency in English and a second language is highly regarded.
