ABOUT LEGAL AID NSW

 
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 25 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. Working at Legal Aid NSW provides the opportunity to support people with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights.


ABOUT THE ROLE

 

• Manage the Administrative team in a regional office;

• Establish and manage office administrative systems and procedures to ensure quality support is available; and

• Provide advice and support to the Solicitor-In-Charge (SIC) in relation to the management of resources including client services, staffing and finance matters.
• This role includes managing and co-ordinating the administrative team as well as supporting and advising the Solicitor-In-Charge (SIC) in operational matters to ensure the effective delivery of client services in a small Regional Office team.

 

ABOUT YOU


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in a busy and demanding environment, meeting tight deadlines and managing conflicting priorities effectively. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be a good communicator with the ability to support the Solicitor-In-Charge in order to meet the requirements of the role. Ideally, you will be someone who considers themselves to be highly organised and systematic in their approach to work. you will be proactive and enthusiastic about taking on varied tasks, in addition to being reliable and transparent in all aspects of your work.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check

 

• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Resident is an essential requirement of applying for an Ongoing role

 

• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement

2. Give an example of a time when you led a team throughout a significant change, whilst also continuing to to perform day-to-day responsibilities to a high standard. Outline the steps you took and what was the result? Also outline the steps you took to improve and maintain staff morale.


The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.


This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future temporary or ongoing vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months.
