ABOUT LEGAL AID NSW

 
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 25 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. Working at Legal Aid NSW provides the opportunity to support people with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights.


ABOUT THE ROLE

• Manage the administrative team in the Domestic Violence Unit;

• Establish and manage office administrative systems and procedures to ensure quality support is available;

• Provide advice and support to the Solicitor-In-Charge (SIC) DVU in relation to management of resources including client services, staffing, finance matters, accommodation, equipment, information technology, travel, and work health and safety &

• Coordinate and undertake intake and referrals of clients to both legal practitioners and non-legal services.


ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced manager who:

• Has strong leadership skills;

• Strong interpersonal skills;

• Experience working in a busy and demanding environment &

• Demonstrates a high level of customer service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check.

• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.

2. Give an example of a time when you led a team through a significant change, whilst also continuing to perform day-to-day responsibilities to a high standard. Outline the steps you took and what was the result? Also outline the steps you took to improve and maintain staff morale. 


The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.


This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and will be used to create a Talent Pool for similar temporary or ongoing future vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months.
