ABOUT THE HCCC

The Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) is an independent statutory body (set up under the Health Care Complaints Act 1993) that plays a central part in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system, with the overarching consideration of protecting the health and safety of individuals and the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a flexible and capable People & Culture Advisor to join a collaborative team to deliver a range of generalist HR services to support the managers and staff.  This role reports directly to the People & Culture Manager and is responsible for providing HR generalist support to ensure business objectives are met.  This will include non-executive recruitment, learning and development, WHS activities, other operational HR issues as well as assisting with key projects to ensure delivery of HR priorities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or have relevant equivalent experience providing HR advice and support.
  • An understanding of employment matters and the ability to interpret Awards and conditions for a range of employees.
  • Ability to balance priorities and manage a high volume workload
  • Experience managing recruitment processes is highly desirable

Essential requirements:

The HCCC has a unique and critical part to play in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system.  As such, it is an essential requirement that all prospective employees are able to carry out their duties in an honest and consistent way, with uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Current resume / curriculum vitae (CV) (maximum 5 pages)
  • Cover letter outlining your relevant skills and experience (maximum 1 page)
  • Your response to the following two targeted questions (maximum 2 pages)
  1. Please provide an example of when you had competing priorities and all were urgent. Explain how you responded to this, what action you took and the outcome.
  2. Describe a situation when you have been required to interpret relevant legislation, policies or procedures to provide advice to a manager or employee. Outline the situation, the issue and the result of the advice you provided.

The selection process will include a comparative assessment to assist in determining your suitability for the role. This will include a behavioural based interview, a work sample assessment and online cognitive ability testing.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Background Verification Check which includes a National Police Check (Criminal History), Working with Children and qualification check.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same work classification that may become available for filling over the next 18 months.
