Research Officer: Flexible role (location/hours)
Job description
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Research Team at the Diversity Council Australia (DCA).
The Research Officer will be responsible for:
· Coordinating DCA strategic projects (including developing project plans, project administration, analysing data sets, drafting reports, assisting project to be delivered on time and on budget and assisting managing stakeholder relationships);
· Researching and responding to DCA member inquiries about leading workplace diversity and inclusion thinking, research, and practice;
· Researching and writing DCA website content and reviewing website content to ensure this reflects leading diversity and inclusion thinking, research, and practice; and
· Supporting the broader DCA team on research related matters as needed.
Flexible role (hours & location) but must work in AEST time-zone reporting to the Newcastle-based Research Manager and Brisbane-based Research Director.
This is a 12-month contract with a view to permanency.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful candidate must:
1. Have excellent research skills (e.g., be able to conduct literature reviews, collect and analyse data and write up findings).
2. Have excellent project management skills including the ability to undertake tasks in a timely, inclusive and resource effective manner, to help ensure key deliverables are met by due dates and in budget.
3. Have strong subject matter expertise about diversity and inclusion in a workplace context.
4. Be able to interact respectfully, professionally, and personably with key stakeholders including with DCA research partners, academics and members of industry.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
- Research experience, preferably higher degree (Honours) or equivalent experience
- Experience managing and coordinating strategic projects
- Strong subject matter expertise in diversity and inclusion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills & attention to detail
- Self-starter with plenty of drive, initiative and motivation and the ability to work unsupervised
- Able to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders,
- Models DCA values of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage and integrity.
- Lived experience of a diversity domain is highly desirable
