About the role
The Rostering Officer plays a key role in providing sustainable management at Life Without Barriers (LWB). The role will centre on coordination and optimisation through the available workforce by utilising rostering and scheduling systems to best meet customer requirements and to promote an efficient workforce in compliance with award and legislative requirements.
This position is based in Canterbury and will involve some out of hours on call (this will be worked on a roster system with circa 7 staff)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand Service Agreements and by measuring customer needs prior to development of schedules and rosters
  • Develop ‘best fit’ schedules for customers whilst optimising rosters for support workers and the program
  • Frequent use of the available mechanisms, including client scheduling system, technical solutions and documentation systems allows rosters to be planned and distributed to the set schedule
  • Where required, monitor and adjust planned rosters and schedules, based on the NDIA plan, the service agreement, customer feedback and complaints.
  • As mandatory, provide reports to the manager or their delegate
 
Skills & Experience  
  • Certificate II in administration, business studies or equivalent
  • Current driver’s license
  • Proven experience in coordinating simultaneously priorities and to deliver results within the given period of time and adhering to standard quality policy & procedures.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Working knowledge of workforce management principles, HSE, awards and roster optimisation
  • Ability to support organisation-wide initiatives that support Life Without Barriers’ Purpose and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to use Data Bases and Microsoft Office suite of programs, for example Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Prior working knowledge of Kronos rostering software would be highly regarded. 
 
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
