The Department of Premier & Cabinet are seeking applications to fill an ongoing Senior Advisor, Governance role.


The Senior Advisor, Governance drives corporate governance operations, policy and project work supporting the Associate Director, Governance. In this role you will lead the broader work team to ensure high-quality support & advice is provided to DPC Executives. You will be responsible for managing projects in consultation with stakeholders across the department, cluster and government sector.   

 

Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($110,745 - $122,037) plus superannuation and leave loading.

We are looking for an individual who can:
  • Ensure effective governance systems and programs are in place and that advice around systems is consistent and accurate.

  • Lead, influence and implement governance functions, where benefits of such activities may initially be difficult to quantify and demonstrate.

  • Communicate with a broad range of stakeholders given the diverse nature of the sector and the communication channels and styles required.

 
Required knowledge, skills & experience
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.

  • Knowledge & understanding of the machinery of government, government functions and Audit & Risk frameworks.



About the team


The Governance Team drives and supports the Department’s corporate governance, risk and internal audit functions to ensure DPC’s standard of probity, equity and best practice in public administration are met.  The Governance team also delivers policy coordination and operation of appointments to key government roles, including statutory and non-statutory roles and for boards and committees.

  2. Provide an example of when you were involved in introducing a new initiative following your identification of a gap relating to a governance procedure or policy. What did you do, why did you do it and what was the outcome?

The selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. The successful applicant will be required to undertake pre-employment checks.
