The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage aims to enrich life in NSW by helping the community to conserve and enjoy our environment and heritage.

 

About the Role:

This role involves the assessment of interesting and challenging development proposals related to heritage. You will be responsible for the provision of advice, compliance activities, and reports relating to the Heritage Act 1977 and review of assessment reports prepared by team members. You will liaise, negotiate and provide feedback to a range of diverse stakeholders as a representative of the Heritage Division and the Heritage Council.

 

You will be also be a go-to person within your team, a point of escalation for more complex matters and a problem solver. You will have the opportunity to coach team members and to take responsibility for the supervision of their work in the absence of the Team Leader.

 

Essential requirements

? Tertiary qualifications in heritage management, architecture, design, urban design, archaeology, planning, landscape architecture or relevant field with demonstrated experience in heritage conservation.

 

To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:

Along with the essential requirements you will have a good understanding of architecture, with ability to read detailed building plans. You will also need well-developed communication skills with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders in a professional manner.
