Please note:

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish a Recruitment Pool for future roles. The Recruitment Pool may be available to hiring managers from Planning and Environment Cluster and other NSW Public Sector agencies over a 12-month period. 

 
About the Role:

Policy Division supports the Minister and the Executive by leading the development of strategic policy, influencing whole-of-government and national policy formation, and providing policy advice. Work is fast-paced and challenging, and your previous similar experience will be put into good use to:

  • Design innovative policy solutions and contribute to the development of legislative and regulatory reforms.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, emerging issues and on-the-ground realities.
  • Undertake qualitive and quantitative research, including analysis of social and economic data.
  • Prepare briefs, discussion papers, reports and submissions using a clear, plain English writing style.
  • Review and evaluate policies to ensure rigour, transparency and effectiveness of the initiatives.
  • Coordinate working groups and committees and stakeholder consultations.
 
Essential requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in providing support and advice at the senior executive level.
  • Previous experience in a Government Agency or similar organization is essential.

The Planning, Industry and Environment Cluster brings together the functions from the former Planning & Environment and Industry Clusters.

 

The new Cluster will drive for greater levels of integration and efficiency across key areas such as long-term planning, precincts, housing, property, infrastructure priorities, open space, the environment, our natural resources – land, water, mining – energy, and growing our industries. In particular, there will be a redoubling of emphasis on regional NSW.
