About the role

You will be responsible for a variety of work including:

  • advising on and documenting complex commercial and property projects, including project specific contracts, leasing, sales and acquisitions
  • interpreting relevant commercial, property, local government and planning legislation
  • providing advice on tender documents and local government procurement processes
  • advising, drafting, negotiating and enforcing commercial and property contracts and associated documents
  • advising Council and staff on a broad range of legal issues which may extend to ICT projects, intellectual property, grants and funding, media and communications, events, policies and procedures, planning agreements, property and leasing.
About you

You will be a lawyer with 5-8 years PQE and have specialist experience in property. Strong drafting, advisory, research and, project management skills are essential.

Ideally, you will also have some experience in general commercial matters. You will be capable of navigating complex legal and regulatory issues and providing practical solutions and advice.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage deadlines and to work as part of a team are essential attributes.
