At Service NSW we make it easier for customers to access government Services. Digital licences such as Drivers license, Trade license, Working with Children Check is just a beginning. We are solving a range of challenges including Digital Identity and Verifiable Credentials that need fresh thinking and innovative ideas. We help customers with the cost of living, by making it easier to access Vouchers, Grants, Rebates and other assistance such as Flood Relief, Covid Relief, Covid Safe Check-in, Cost of Living Program, Bushfire Relief, Energy Rebate, Toll Relief, Active and Creative Kids, Seniors Savers card etc.

We make it easier for people to start and run new businesses in NSW by enhancing our award-winning Easy-to-do-Business services.

We create solutions to help marginalised and vulnerable sections of our society such as the homeless and victims of violence.

About the role:

As a Senior Solutions Architect, your role will enable us to guide the transformation of Service NSW vision through the integrated solutions which meets the current and future needs of the business.

You will provide provides comprehensive guidance on the development of solution components to ensure they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, polices, standards and practices including security whilst ensuring that existing and planned solution components remain compatible. More specifically you will:

  • Translate the business, technical, functional and non-functional requirements into the solution design artifacts to enable Engineers to create efficient and reliable products.
  • Review, interpret and respond to detailed Business Requirements Specifications to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future Digital capability and the strategic plan
  • Define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives including technology solutions and changes to service, process and/or operating models.
  • Define the Solution based on business needs and present it to our stakeholders from both technical and business backgrounds
  • Define and establish the solution architecture, from the initial conceptual vision through to the concrete software architecture specification
  • Manage relationships with the business to address concerns and understand the business need around requirements for new applications or solutions and communicate the impact of technical changes and decisions on business outcomes
  • Research and test relevant technology, platforms and scale the technical solutions to leverage the most appropriate technologies into solution designs

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Architecture
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Experience in TOGAF, ZACHMAN or similar architectural frameworks
  • Deep experience in designing software architectures that address all aspects such as Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Scalability, Service Availability, Performance Efficiency and Cost Optimization
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and IPaaS and hybrid deployment models
  • Deep knowledge of AWS Services - Compute, Analytical and Networking Services
  • Experience in Business Process Management Tools
  • AWS Architect Certification or similar certification with any other Cloud Providers is desirable

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at 114,429.00 base plus superannuation
