ABOUT LEGAL AID NSW

 

Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 28 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW including the two satellite offices located at Walgett and Bourke, and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. Working at Legal Aid NSW provides the opportunity to support people with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

As the Systems Administrator Infrastructure you will provide second/third level day-to-day technical support as part of the ICT Infrastructure Team, collaborating closely with the Service Desk, Applications Support, Audio/Visual and our external vendor support partners.

 

You will have responsibilities of maintaining / implementing in Azure, O365 environments, OnPrem and online exchange environments. OnPrem infrastructure support AD, DNS, DHCP and Security on Windows Servers and PC’s.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Strong technical skills, covering Windows Server, Networking, VLAN's, Private and Public Cloud, O365, Remote Access, Azure.
  • Strong disciplines in Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity Management and Documentation (Knowledge Articles).
  • Joint problem-solving skills, collaborating with other ICT teams, customers and vendor partners.
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet and make decisions under pressure.
  • Sound written and verbal communications skills – ability to clarify a problem, provide options and recommendations in both technical and business language.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check 
  • Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, or be an Australian Permanent Resident (essential for ongoing vacancies) or hold a valid working visa (for temporary vacancies)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement

• cover letter (maximum 2 pages) responding to the following two questions:

 

  1. Describe the resolution of a complex ICT Infrastructure related problem in which you played a key role. Ideally it involved some or all of cloud services (azure / O365). What was your approach, including your engagement with the internal teams and external vendors; challenges faced, and outcomes achieved? 

 

  1. Describe how the core ITIL framework components, which include Incident, Problem, Change and Capacity Management, should work across typical ICT support teams. In your experience, describe what has worked well and what are the main challenges in achieving consistent and quality ICT service management via the ITIL framework.

 

The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.

 

This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future temporary or ongoing vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months.
