About us

 

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

 

About the role

 

You will lead and provide senior management to the Work and Development Order (WDO) Service in the Civil Law Division of Legal Aid NSW.

 

About the team

 

The WDO Service is a statewide team that assists not-for-profit organisations, government agencies and health practitioners to become approved WDO sponsors. It also provides specialist fines advice and representation services to priority clients, including in more complex and systemic matters. The WDO service is a partner to the broader WDO Scheme with Department of Communities and Justice and Revenue NSW.

 

 

About you

 

You will possess strong leadership and management skills to be able to encourage a culture which recognises the value of collaboration. You demonstrate drive and motivation to lead by example, to achieve outcomes to the best of your ability.

 

You will have experience in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders, and having the capacity to further strengthen a large number and range of external relationships and partnerships.

 

We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

The essential requirements for this role

 

You must:

 

·         be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW

·         be able to provide a current unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us

·         be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and/or Working with Children Check

·         hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
