About the team
The Strategic Communication team supports the PSC to impact meaningful behaviour change across the NSW public sector. We are a high performing and award-winning team using human-centred design to achieve business outcomes. Covering the full suite of communication activities, we partner with PSC teams and sector customers to drive deep engagement with PSC products and services. The team also lead the PSC’s positioning, reputation management and communications for major events and media issues.
About the role
The Senior Events Advisor has strong generalist communications experience with specialist capabilities in project management and event design and implementation. The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the NSW Premier’s Awards, the flagship reward and recognition program for the NSW public sector.
The Senior Events Advisor also provides strategic advice and guidance for the delivery of other high-profile PSC events. As a senior member of the team the role takes a leadership role in activities beyond events and provides coaching and oversight to more junior members of the team.
We are looking for a communication professional who:
- is outcomes-focused with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing major events, both online, hybrid and in person
- possesses strong project management skills with an ability to lead logistical event programming
- has experience in facilitating engagement from a diverse range of stakeholders
- can identify business improvement opportunities and develop, implement, and maintain processes and systems
- has a solid understanding of the regulatory environment for government including accessibility, brand management and procurement requirements
- has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- thinks creatively and enjoys problem solving, with a high consideration for human centred design approaches to their work.
Demonstrated experience in project managing, creating, programming, coordinating and delivering a wide range of events (including in person, virtual and hybrid) is essential.
