The Team

The Architecture and Governance team is a small unit (4) within the ICT Directorate who are responsible for effective direction and guidance of Technology focused (IT) Architecture. The group is formative within the organization but are well supported by the CIO/Director ICT and wider group Executive Director. The team is responsible for establishing the Architecture practice, governance processes and services it will provide to support the business, particularly through digital transformation and project delivery initiatives. As an evolving practice, there is tremendous opportunity to influence the development of the team and make significant contribution in the formation of the business unit as an architecture brand within the organization. The work is plentiful, adaptive and offers simultaneous tactical and strategic responses, complimented by a continued stream of project initiatives following the 2019/2020 fire season.


 

About You

Responsible for leading the establishment and management of the information architecture practice, the role supports Product and Project teams in the management and delivery of objectives with an information management focus.

As a member of a small Architecture team establishing the practice, you are an engaging and personable team player with an enthusiasm toward work activity that is accustomed to applying the practical effort required to deliver outcomes. Adaptive to change and accommodating of variability in defined standards, guidelines and detail, you are self-motivated, curious to find/provide answers and interested in the chance to assist the ‘green-field’ build of an architecture practice within a highly responsive, dynamic and community service focused enterprise. You look forward to the opportunity to:

  • Establish effective relationships with a high number of key stakeholders.
  • Work in a delivery driven environment where change and new initiatives are constant, valued and encouraged.
  • Develop enterprise focused data views with minimal resources, time and capacity, working with product teams to deliver outcomes and artefacts.
  • Introduce and drive key initiatives toward better data architecture practices.
  • Drive awareness and understanding of data holdings, models, integration and storage patterns throughout the enterprise.
  • Operate in both tactical and strategic spheres simultaneously with the ability to change context quickly.
  • Manage and guide the NSW RFS data architecture practice within the organisation.
  • Deliver strategic oversight and data architecture direction/expertise through communication of best practices, patterns and processes.
