About the Role
This is an important role in the Premier’s Implementation Unit supporting NSW achieve the commitments in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Senior Analyst - Closing the Gap is responsible for preparing and coordinating high-quality data analysis to identify trends and emerging issues and report on performance to drive the delivery of NSW Government priorities with a particular focus on Closing the Gap.
This is a targeted role and Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply. Greater consideration will be given to suitable Aboriginal applicants to improve access to employment and career opportunities.

About the Team
The Premier’s Implementation Unit (PIU) works closely with agencies to drive delivery of the Premier’s Priorities. We do this by providing skills and tools to support implementation and monitor progress towards targets. We work collaboratively with agencies to identify challenges and solutions, extract insights from data, work with people on the frontline and analyse systems and services.

- You can communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- You understand issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- You have experience in data analysis and reporting (including data visualisation)
- You are an effective team member and proactive in building relationships
- You can use analytical judgement, initiative and technical skills to create practical solutions
- You understand and apply effective project management planning, coordination, control and evaluation methods

Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($113,343 - $124,901) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
