About the role

The Senior Associate, Economic Policy undertakes complex economic policy or project work to inform policy directions, facilitate service delivery reforms or major initiatives and provide well researched and sound options on which the Department can rely for effective decision making or delivery. In this role you will identify emerging issues of strategic significance and prepare high level advice to the executive of DPC and the Premier.

About you

You will be someone who enjoys leading, coaching and developing a team to deliver projects. You will critically analyse and prepare high quality quantitative and qualitative economic analysis in various forms on policy issues. To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to manage negotiations on public policy and projects with key stakeholders and provide considered economic advice in line with economic frameworks and concepts.

 

We are looking for an Economist who has:

  • Experience in developing and implementing service delivery reforms, strategic initiatives or interagency projects.
  • Experience in undertaking all aspects of the policy process – research, development, review and evaluation.
  • Experience in applying contemporary economic theory to policy development and analysis.

 

About the team

The Economics Branch in the Department of Premier and Cabinet provides strategic economic analysis and advice to inform projects and policy across the NSW Government, driving the economic strategy of NSW.

Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($111,077 - $122,404), plus superannuation and leave loading.
