About the role

 

The role of Senior Deputy Registrar is to fulfil statutory and judicial functions and assist the Registrar in leading a specialist registry.

 

The Senior Deputy Registrar also ensures quality service delivery outcomes by supporting a work environment that values teamwork and ethical behaviour.

 

Duties

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

·         Exercising statutory and delegated quasi-judicial functions to conduct directions hearings, conduct conciliation conferences and determine interlocutory applications by applying facts to the relevant law whilst communicating outcomes in a timely manner.

 

·         Managing the daily functions of a complex specialist Registry, ensuring systems and procedures meet the needs of the court, are compliant with the Court’s Act, relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

 

·         Using innovative leadership strategies to develop Registry team members, to ensure the delivery of high quality responsive client services.

 

·         Foster change through the development of good working relationships with Judges, Commissioners and legal practitioners and provide accurate procedural advice and guidance as required.

 

Role Requirements

 

·         Tertiary qualifications in law

 

·         Admission as a legal practitioner in NSW, and eligibility to hold a NSW practising certificate.

 

·       Strong understanding of the LEC within the NSW justice system

 

·       Knowledge and experience in environment and planning areas of law

 

·       It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
