The New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) are recruiting to fill multiple permanent and temporary roles located in Sydney CBD.

About the organisation
Communities and Justice (DCJ) enables services to better work together to support everyone’s right to access justice, support families and strengthen/bolster the promotion of early intervention and inclusion, with benefits for the whole community.
NCAT deals with a broad and diverse range of matters, from tenancy issues and building works, to decisions on guardianship and administrative review of government decisions.
The Guardianship Division of NCAT makes decisions about people who have a decision-making disability. The Guardianship Division determines applications about adults who are incapable of making their own decisions and who may require a legally appointed substitute decision maker.
About the role
Your role will be assisting clients to understand the Tribunal process, including communication with persons with a disability. The role case manages applications including listing, communication with parties and preparing matters for hearing in compliance with legislative and procedural requirements.
Duties
We are looking for someone who is motivated, takes initiative, has strong customer service skills and an interest in contributing to the rights of people with disabilities. You will:
- Be a quick learner and willing to develop your skills and knowledge of legislation, legal principles and procedures
- Have strong communication and negotiation skills and enjoy client contact
- Have experience working in a high volume environment with set timeframes
- Be able to manage and prioritise your workload independently and efficiently
- Have an ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Like working with others to achieve team and organisational goals
Role requirements
