About the role

The Senior Executive Assistant provides a range of specialist executive and secretariat support services to ensure the smooth running of the Office of Children's Guardian providing support to the Children's Guardian and the Deputy Children's Guardian.

We are seeking a motivated and resilient person to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for both the Children's Guardian and Deputy Children's Guardian in all their day-to-day matters which involves analysing, prioritising, and actioning all matters including sensitive information.
  • Act as the first point contact for inquiries from Minister's offices, NSW Government executives and external stakeholders including community groups.
  • Action and follow up decisions and resolutions of the Children's Guardian and Executive to ensure that matters are dealt with in a timely and effective manner.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project planning and management, as well as influence and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in assessing and prioritising requests and workload to support the leadership group.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent knowledge and workplace experience including ongoing professional development.
  • All roles within the Office of the Children's Guardian are required to have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Employment at the Office of the Children's Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks.
