About the role

The Child Safe Training Officer is responsible for delivering education and training for organisations with obligations under the Children's Guardian Act 2019 and the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (WWCC) to support implementation of the NSW Child Safe Standards. The role involves translating current legislation, educational research and best practice on child safe organisations and related topics to inform training development and delivery. This includes delivering training in-person and on online platforms and working collaboratively with key partners to identify, scope and manage training opportunities.

Key knowledge and experienc

  • Develop and deliver child safe education and training to organisations across multiple sectors and diverse groups.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with co-trainers, colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to identify education and training opportunities in the programs of partners and key stakeholders.
  • Utilise current educational research, evidenced based practices and available technology to inform the development and delivery of training program of work.
  • Analysing and communicating complex information from a variety of sources to deliver training to diverse stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant experience in providing training workshops to adults.
  • NSW Driver Licence and the ability to travel extensively throughout NSW for training delivery.
  • Employment at the Office of the Children's Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks.
  • All roles associated with the Office of the Children's Guardian are required to have a current NSW Working with Children Check.
